The cloud,
for small business.
A bilingual handbook for the Communications Regulatory Authority of Qatar — practical insights and guidelines helping Qatar's SMEs adopt cloud technologies securely, effectively, and at their own pace.
The brief
The audience wasn't cloud architects — it was a Qatari shop owner, a small accounting firm, a medium-sized logistics operator. The handbook had to be technically accurate and approachable at the same time.
Our job was to reduce the visual noise: strip the jargon, pace the chapters like a how-to, and let a single illustration carry the metaphor of 'cloud' across the whole book. Bilingual from the first spread — Arabic readers weren't an afterthought.
How we worked
01 — Strip the jargon
Every chapter rewritten in the table-of-contents phase so design and content shipped together.
02 — Single-illustration system
One line illustration (the cloud + nodes) carries across cover, section dividers, and in-chapter diagrams.
03 — Bilingual from page one
Arabic and English set on the same grid, designed to read side-by-side or independently.
04 — Print-and-PDF
Print-ready master for distribution through CRA events; optimised PDF for download on cra.gov.qa.
