Childhood,
in the data.
A bilingual survey report for the Doha International Family Institute and Qatar University's Social & Economic Survey Research Institute — modern, data-forward, print and digital.
The brief
DIFI, in partnership with Qatar University's SESRI, ran a national survey on childhood well-being in Qatar and needed a report that worked on two fronts: rigorous enough for policy readers, warm enough that a parent could open a page at the dinner table.
The cover puts a young Qatari child front-and-centre; the interior prioritises legible data visualisation and bilingual parity. Print-ready files for distribution to ministries and a digital edition for DIFI.org.
Scope on this report extended beyond design — Freezil also proof-read the full bilingual manuscript before final print.
How we worked
01 — Cover photography direction
A dignified portrait of a young Qatari child, warm teal tonality, gentle pattern of icons in the background suggesting the survey themes.
02 — Data-forward layout
Custom chart styles for every recurring question type. Footnotes, source lines, and read order for every figure.
03 — Bilingual grid
Single twelve-column baseline-locked grid. Arabic and English versions publish from the same InDesign document with linked styles.
04 — Deliver everywhere
Print-ready master, compressed digital edition, social pull-quote kit for the DIFI comms team.
05 — Editorial proof-read
Beyond design, we ran a full bilingual proof-read on the survey manuscript — statistical tables cross-checked against the source data, every footnote traced back to its citation, every Arabic-English pair read side-by-side for parity.
A pandemic, in population data.
